Global training, local care
After several years in group practice, Dr Leong established The Eye Clinic to bring together advanced ophthalmic technology, personalised care and lasting patient relationships — continuing strong Wellington roots with a forward-focused approach.
At the clinic he uses multimodal imaging and modern therapies — including OCT-angiography for detailed vascular mapping and navigated retinal laser for micron-accurate treatment — to detect, monitor and manage complex retinal and glaucoma conditions. Each technology is carefully evaluated to maximise safety and tailor treatment to your individual needs.
Training
Medical degree at the University of Nottingham, ophthalmology training at Dunedin Hospital, and specialist fellowships in Wellington and Oxford.
Expertise
Medical retina, inherited retinal diseases and uveitis — where precise diagnostics and tailored treatment matter most — alongside cataract surgery.
Public hospital experience
A Consultant Ophthalmologist at Wellington and Hutt Hospitals from 2022 to 2026, including work with the regional retinal imaging service.
